Halloween Crunch Time Bucket List

With Halloween being 15 days away…I have gotten just a little to almost nothing done! I’m normally good at all this stuff and on time but MJ, Jayla and well basically life has been kicking my ass!  So all I’ve done is decorate around the house.  I guess I should at least be proud of that right?!

Well have no fear @MOSTTHINGSMOM is here for you! I’ve created a list of 15 things to do before HALLOWEEN!  And this isn’t a huge “OMG I Can’t Do That In A Jiffy List!” This is definitely a super easy list AND I’m sure you can cross off more than ONE thing in ONE day! So here we go!

HALLOWEEN CRUNCH TIME BUCKET LIST

THE LIST :

  1. DECORATE – Seriously guys, your kids, no matter what age will appreciate even the smallest pumpkin on a kitchen table.  You don’t have to go all out.  A pumpkin here, a little web there and you’re set!  I just so happened to find some stuff at the Target dollar spot and Walmart that I picked up and set up around my counters and walls.
  2. PUMPKIN PICKING – If you haven’t already, now is definitely the time to go. You don’t ever want to go TOO early or TOO late. I know pumpkins at a Pumpkin Patch cost an arm and a leg but just go for the activities with the kids at least.  And buy something small just to support.
  3. WATCH SCARY MOVIES NIGHT – If you’re running short on time and are super tired, nothing winds down kids more than telling them it’s a “MOVIE NIGHT“.  Pop some popcorn in the microwave, pick a movie and lounge on the sofa until everyone knocks out.
  4. PAINT PUMPKINS – This is something that I started after MJ was born.  Since the little ones are too small to carve, we PAINT!  You can find tiny pumpkins at your local farm or local supermarket for like $1, pick up some washable paint, paint brushes and a table cover at the Dollar Store and let the mess happen!
  5. SHOP FOR COSTUMES – We have not gone around to shop for costumes but ONE TIP : if you wait about 2 weeks or even 1 week before Halloween, certain stores have them on sale! (The Early Bird Doesn’t Always Get The Worm) haha!
  6. HALLOWEEN PJ’S NIGHT – Anything you announce with enthusiasm, your kids will be excited for! Take out all your Halloween PJ’s and repeat #2!
  7. BAKE SPOOKY CUPCAKES – On your normal Grocery Trip, pick up come Halloween Cake Mix & Frosting! (SOME MOMS DON’T HAVE TIME TO MAKE IT FROM SCRATCH PINTEREST PATTY!!!) After dinner (I know you’re tired moms!) have the kids help with the mix, (or just do it all yourself) and let them add the frosting and the sprinkles! And then we can eat them all when they fall asleep! LOL
  8. DECORATE HALLOWEEN COOKIES – If you have a Walmart near you, they actually sell a kit with premade cookies and some frosting and sprinkles! I swear to god a busy mom musta thought of this! GENIUS! IFFFFFFFFF you can’t get a hold of this, then every supermarket should sell those Pillsbury themed ready to bake cookies we can’t get enough of!  (I currently have 4 packs in my fridge!)
  9. CARVE PUMPKINS – This is literally just “EVERYONE WATCH THE HUBBY CARVE THE PUMPKINS” Night! My kids do not care about this at all, they just want to see the finished design! (If you’re feeling like a Pinterest Patty, feel free to roast those pumpkin seeds and eat ’em!!!)
  10. SPOOKY SOCKS NIGHT – Every year I grab some THEMED Socks at the Dollar Store or Target and we wear them all on the same night, I always have to snap a pic!  If you want you can do this and repeat #6 and #3.
  11. READ A SCARY BOOK – Pull out one of your favorite Halloween books near bedtime, read it out loud for the kiddos and call it a night!
  12. MONSTER PANCAKES – The easiest holiday breakfast for kids is always Pancakes!  All you need is a little sprinkles and Food Coloring and you’re all set!  In this case, add some ORANGE or GREEN food coloring to your pancake mix, add some ORANGE and BLACK sprinkles, maybe some edible MONSTER EYES and you’re done!
  13. MONSTER MUSIC – How can we forget our trusty Pandora Playlist?  Put it on Monster or Halloween mode and let the kiddos bust out their favorite SPOOKY MOVES!
  14. CANDY APPLES – You know Halloween is right around the corner when the Supermarkets start selling Candy Apples! Buy some, if not, have some fun and make your own! It’s super simple! Most supermarkets sell a kit, if not grab some apples and some caramel, don’t forget the sprinkles, cut them up and DIP your own!
  15. TRICK OR TREAT – The day has finally come!!! Put on your costumes and go get some CANDY! Moms…..make sure you take them, that way you have plenty of candy to eat the next day!

I hope you guys have enjoyed my list! Let me know if I missed anything! As always, Thanks for reading and

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
